About Our Site

SaferPets was formed to offer a unique reference point on keeping your pet safe.

Whether you're looking for the best way to care for your pet or tips on how you and your children can safely enjoy your pets, SaferPets offers you a unique reference point on keeping your pet and your family safe. Full of interesting features and practical advice, SaferPets helps you choose your pet wisely and care for it properly, so that your pet, your children and yourself all stay safe.

Statistics show that incidents with pets, such as dog bites, are not something which can be ignored. Children are particularly vulnerable - statistics from the United States show that children, especially boys between the ages of 5 to 9 years, have the highest incidence rate of being bitten, with 77% of injuries to children under 10yrs being facial. Sadly, the majority of dog attacks (61%) happen at home or in familiar surroundings, with a dog belonging to the family or a friend.

Thus with statistics like these, it is more important than ever to ensure safety between your pets and your family.

Topics covered in the website include articles on dog, cat, bird, reptile and fish safety; a section on small mammals and exotic pets as well as a section devoted to children and pets.

The pet travel safety section details how to travel safely with your pet, whether it is car journeys or staying in pet-friendly accommodation. Pet health and advice on general pet ownership provides a wealth of tips on caring for your pet and keeping it happy and healthy, plus a section on pet finance offers articles on related topics such as pet insurance and vet fees.

Our concern was that there was no single UK resource for interesting features and practical advice on this subject.

Our features and articles are written by experts - who have experience, or a particular interest in this area.
